Over 180 Endorsements for America First, Grassroots Candidate
 CANTON, OH – U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken is proud to announce the endorsement and support today of law enforcement officials across Ohio. Timken has made supporting Ohio’s police officers a key tenet of her campaign and has participated in multiple police ride-alongs, department tours, and roundtables with Sheriffs and officers across Ohio.

On Friday, U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken campaigned in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus with Senator Rob Portman who has endorsed Timken as his successor. See below for some of the highlights:

COLUMBUS, OH – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman joined Jane Timken on the campaign trail in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus to tout why he thinks she is the best candidate in the race. 

“I think Jane Timken is the right person at the right time. I think she is the best person to win the primary and the general election,” said Senator Portman in Columbus. “We have to ensure we are sending thoughtful, smart conservatives to Washington, D.C. to be able to change the current policies of the Biden administration desperately, but also people who can figure out how to bring people together and get things done. CANTON, OH – U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken released the following statement on Russia’s disregard for Ukrainian sovereignty and it’s deployment of forces: 

“It is no coincidence that Vladimir Putin is invading Ukraine under Joe Biden’s weak and feckless leadership. From day one, Biden emboldened Russia by giving them a new START treaty with no conditions, declaring only 16 infrastructure entities ‘off-limits’ after the Colonial Pipeline hack, and ceding American energy dominance to Putin by greenlighting the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline and canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline.

Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump’s ‘peace through strength’ doctrine worked, and as a U.S. Senator, I would have pushed long ago for crushing economic sanctions against Russia and vital military aid for Ukraine. 

While I am 100% opposed to sending U.S. troops to Ukraine and believe intervening militarily would be a mistake, Biden must immediately impose sanctions and respond with strength, including putting an end to the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline. 

I believe ‘America First’ means protecting American security interests at home and abroad, and a Russian-controlled Ukraine will directly impact American energy prices causing Ohioans to pay more at the gas pump, fuel food inflation, and further disrupt supply chains while sending a blaring notice to China, North Korea, and Iran that America and our allies are vulnerable.

Former Obama-Biden official Robert Gates once said that Biden has ‘been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.’ Biden can now add the fall of Afghanistan, the rise of the Taliban, an emboldened China and Iran, and the beginning of Putin’s attempt to rebuild the Soviet Union to that humiliating list. Americans are less safe because of Joe Biden and Democrat leadership.”

“Across the country, 30 law enforcement officers were shot in the line of duty in January alone. In 2021, intentional killings of officers reached a 20-year high. Meanwhile, violent crime spiked across the country as 14 major Democrat-run cities, including Columbus and Toledo, broke homicide records.

There is a war being waged on the police, and beneath this backdrop of violence, lies a silent White House and a complicit Democrat Party.

…Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan, my likely Democrat opponent in the U.S. Senate race, has even accused police officers of being a leading cause of death for young men – a totally false and irresponsible claim.

The dramatic rise in crime and the escalating violence against police is a direct result of this harmful rhetoric and the unmitigated disaster that is bail reform.

Biden and Democrats have spent the last two years telling criminals that if they break the law, we won’t punish you, but telling police officers that if they enforce the law, we will punish you. At the same time, left-wing governors and prosecutors, many funded by liberal billionaire George Soros, promote weak bail reform policies that allow repeat violent criminals to go free on the streets.

As Ohio’s next senator, I fiercely believe that instead of defunding the police, we should be defending the police!

One of my top priorities as U.S. Senator will be to kick the Department of Justice into action. It should go without saying, but the DOJ needs to be more focused on prosecuting violent criminals than prosecuting parents at school board meetings.

Finally, on a more local level, we have to vote out liberal prosecutors and support tough-on-crime prosecutors like Hamilton County’s Joe Deters. Prosecutor Deters knows better than most the Soros-machine that is trying to systematically dismantle law and order in this country, but we have to fight back. That is why I was proud to work so hard as Ohio Republican Party Chair to ensure Prosecutor Deters’ reelection in 2020, and why I’m very proud to have his endorsement in this U.S. Senate primary, along with the support of many sheriffs and law enforcement officials across the state.

One of the major pillars of my Senate platform is ensuring Ohio’s communities are safe. We can’t have thriving schools or booming businesses without first having safe communities, and we can’t have safe communities without the work of police officers.

On the campaign trail, I talk regularly with law enforcement, tour sheriff’s departments, and have even done ride-alongs to get first-hand experience of what police officers face every single day.

The disdain for law enforcement in this country must end. No more fallen heroes. No more demoralizing, denigrating, or defunding the police.
